What is Microsoft WinHelp (.hlp)?

This is an Online help format that uses the Rich Text Format as a basis.

It was the industry standard for Windows 3.1 and Windows 95/NT. Not supported out of the box starting with Windows XP, requires a separate download of WinHlp32.exe.
